Book recommendation: The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared

Polite criminals may not be your first thought when you hear about a 100-year-old man and his modestly aged friends, however, that is precisely the whole point of this book. 'The 100-year old man who etc' is your regular story about a Swedish bomb specialist in 1914. Who in his stubbornness to keep out of all political conflicts, indiscriminately helps all parties of all sides participating in the ww1.  Allan Karlsson, the main character of the book, is calm and never too worried, once spending 15 years on a beach in Bali.  And for being one of the only people in the world with the ability to build an atom bomb at that time, he is rather modest and needs very less other than a glass of vodka now and then.
